to answer the question
about the scholarship....My goal here isn't to change someones life,
but rather to make it easier. I know what it's like to go through
college struggling with money and sexuality issues all at the same
time, not to mention school. I'd love to help make this experience
less stressful for someone out there. That's all.

the scholarship

Hey guys...I just want
to clear up info about the scholarship that we're going to award this
fall. First of all, being gay is a minor prerequisite for the
scholarship. It will be awarded to the winner of an essay contest that
will be held later. I haven't worked out the details yet, but the
theme of the essay will be: major, life-changing events; plans to make
a difference in society(not necessarily gay related); or any other
point of interest that essay writers can bring up. The point of this
scholarship is to award aid to a needy gay recipient who is in college
and needs financial aid. The scholarship will probably be around
$3000. Details will be announced here on the website later. At the
moment, i'm busying myself coming up with the funds. This includes
finding someone who will match funds that I donate.
Thanks and keep a watch for info to be announced later this summer.
much love,
Danny

...all.
Sivart, glad to see a regular amoungst the crowd. All the rest of the
regulars I will get to you personally sooner or later.
Andrew, wish I would've known that much about myself when I was 18.
Hang in there, leading the "gay" life doesn't look that bad
from my point of view. Tons of people out there feel the same way you
do, danny and I included. It comes down to you and only you, never
settle. I didn't, hopefully danny didn't either (actually
"hope" is not the word, I know he didn't). There's so much
time...
lowbudget, thank you for the trip through memory lane. Every country
and city brought up some good pictures in my mind. Glad all went well
and we are soon to follow.

...through the writing
of the word.
How's everyone doing, keeping up with with the board drama I presume!
Well things are definately calming down, all for the better. Now that
the summer is upon us...
It's great to see that all the regulars are still alive and the
newbies are still visiting the site. Stick with it, alot of good (and
bad) has come from it (the board I mean).
To dispell any of the rumors, danny and I are still happily spending
our lives together. The military is still there and a constant
annoyance but we live with our choices. Danny is doing great, has a
couple of things lined up for the summer. A and F catalog, speaking
here and there and some magazine covers. Look for them.
He is still using the RW thing to do some "real good" for
some organizations. Alaska Rainforest and Virginia Highland Baptists
Church, done and still keeping in touch. I know he's going to try the
auction thing one more time to raise money for a scholastic
scholarship to a deserving intellectual. We'll see if there's any
interest; a car and lunch with the man himself seems like a great deal
to me. You never know.
How about you all? Any interesting stories? I'll be lurking until
something comes up...

So Paul and I will be
holding another Ebay auction soon, with the major item being my
college car that I'm still holding onto. It's a black, '88 Honda
Accord in good condition with a bike rack included. We'll meet the
winner of the auction in Atlanta, hand the car over and have lunch at
Doc Chey's. Proceeds from this auction are going to a scholarship fund
that will be awarded this fall to a lucky gay recipient (more details
on this will be announced later).

Hey all...so, Paul's
back and we just had an awesome memorial day weekend. Hope you all had
the same. To the guy who asked about my journal page, well, I just
updated it a few days ago, so all of you please read. Might give you
some ideas for something to do later this summer. I'd love some
feedback as well since I haven't gotten much this go around. Just alot
of chatter on the messge board. To the guy from south Texas who's
heading up to S. Carolina. You must see either Charleston or Savannah.
They're really cool historical towns. They're similar, but Charleston
is larger and has more to do. Atlanta is a must as well, but the size
of the city might overwhelm you. You need to know a local so you can
find things to do and see as well as the good night spots. The city is
so spread out that it can be too much for someone who doesn't know
they're way around.

It's all good JL...perfectly normal. You must start opening up to others though. You'll never accept it if others don't really know you. It's much easier to validate your feelings when others know your reality. How can you accept something about yourself when no one else knows the person that you are? IT's all a big circle. Your reality is what you create.

Hey JL...I think you'd be amazed at how well your friends would take it. I think most guys find that their friends don't really give a ####...they just like you because you're cool to hang with. They're not trying to sleep with you. If they have half a brain, they'll realize that and move on. i'd say, begin by stopping with the females. I carried that #### on way beyond being necessary. I just kept hoping that i'd find the right one, but I realized that it was just one broken heart and failed relationship after another. The women don't deserve that. Once you get that out of the way, then you can start dealing with your emotions in a more responsible way.

well, unfortunately, i can't help you w/ your boy. I don't know what bootcamp will be like for him. But for you...i'd say all the worries and thoughts you're having are perfectly normal. You're just trying to get your head straight. (no pun intended) it's tough to come to these realizationsa and accept them. Just be thankful that it's happening now and not 10 years from now. I went through the same things at your age. There were days were I thought i'd go crazy thinking about it. Once, i had to stop my car because i was thinking too much, too fast in my head. There just comes a point where you realize it's not that big of a deal and the fuzzy picture clears up. It's like walking out of a smoke screen. That happened for me around the age of 21 going on 22. right after college. There are so many things in life that one has to worry about other than sexuality.

hey man...you're at a point in your life where it is going to be an issue, whether you want it to be or not. You're realizing things and trying to clear your head. For me...I didn't have many gay friends, so it didn't feel like the gay thing was such an issue. (gays tend to make it more of an issue than it should be) I just had alot of great, open minded friends who listened and made me feel secure about. It was great that I had straight friends who didn't give a #### if i was gay or not. It didn't matter to them, so it wasn't that big of an issue.

Gregory...I agree with you that the modern day church in general is corrupted, but i disagree that we should flee from it. VHBC is a perfect examply of what religion can be. I think religion and the church has a role in society. It's a tool to bring people together to share a positive experience and love in life. it's so sad that young people are being pushed away from the church because of how out of touch it is. I myself ran from the religion until i was shown an example of how It CAN be in touch. In that case, it's one of the most beautiful things i've ever experienced. VHBC makes me want to cry when i'm there for a sermon because it reminds me that there is love and hope in this ####ed up world.

here's how I judge the intelligence level of a school where I speak. If the majority of the questions are asked about the show...bad. If more questions are issue-oriented and worldy...good. Nebraska=95% questions about the show like..."what's Melissa like?" "Did you and Kelley make out?" "Was it fun?" Was what fun? I hate that #### question. I want to strangle dumbasses that ask me that.

no, that's the sad thing about the place. These people were so deeply in the closet (and for good reason) that they wont be coming out anytime soon. These people were in the closet for a reason. They had reason to fear those around them. This place was mad bigoted. that's what really bothered me about it. It didn't bother me that they were in the closet...that's their business. It bothered me to know that the south isn't the only place in this county that is deeply bigoted. Not to mention the lack of color there. I've never seen so many white people in one place in my life.

saw everyone from every
existing cast. most for the first time and most had no idea who they
were or from what cast. I still haven't seen most of the seasons. But
Paul will be back in a week.

Hey guys...before I head
out on the road again this evening, I just wanted to let you all know
that I finally updated my journal page and I'd love for you all to
read it. Paul's away working for a couple of weeks right now, so i'm
all alone. boo hoo. life can be rough. talk to you all when I get
back. Remember, if the site goes down, just switching servers and
it'll be back up in a couple of days.
much Love,
Danny

Good morning
board-heads. Just got home from a road trip. Saw my family for
mother's day and all my old buds from school. That's always the best.
Just wanted to let you guys know that if the site goes offline, no
worries. That just means we're changing servers and it will be back
online in a couple of days or so. Could happen really soon or a month
from now. Just be aware and spread the word. So, i'm off...back on the
road. take care until next time.
