Hey, don't get me wrong, I still had a great time. It's just too bad that the event was such a disaster. It was nice to meet you guys as well. And you're right, I passed a club right down the street as we left and there were more people there it seemed.

I did enjoy myself, but I do agree that the event was poorly planned, but hey I still had fun, It was really nice to meet you, and I also agree that we were probably the youngest guys there. When Chuck and I left we both commented that it was a poorly publicised event, and agter seeing the croud of people at the club we went to not 5 minutes away, it was really disapointing to think that market was not tapped at all!!!!

Anyway it was nice to meet you and fun to hang out, but I am sorry that you didn't have a good time!!!!

WASN'T ALL IT'S HYPED UP TO BE AND I AGREE - IT DOESN'T SEEM TO REALLY REPRESENT WHAT IT SHOULD BE ABOUT, IT'S LOST IT'S REAL MEANING IT SEEMS. I JUST TOOK A BREAK FROM WORK AND CHECKED TO SEE IF YOU HAD ANY UPDATES IN HERE, WAS SHOCKED TO SEE THAT YOU WERE ACTUALLY ON RIGHT NOW! YOU SHOULD BE OUT IN THIS AWESOME WEATHER WE'RE HAVING!! LAST QUESTION - FOR THOSE OF US LUCKY ENOUGH TO LIVE UP HERE, WHERE WOULD BE THE MOST LIKELY PLACE TO RUN INTO YOU AT TO MEET YOU?

That's fine if some think I didn't represent well. I wasn't on the show simply to represent the gay community. I can only judge the job I did based on feedback and I have to say that it has mostly been positive. I'm just happy to hear from so many straight people that i've changed their perception of gays. That's all that matters to me.

i have a question, let's hope it doesn't bother you. If you put your name on Yahho, there are a lot of Yahoo Groups. With your name, or the Real World New Orleans Cast. I've read on one of them, that "the gay comunity" (that's why i asked if oyu beleive in that yesterday) doesn't like the "job" you did on tv. They say that you were not representive enough. first, who say what represtnive and what's not? what do you think of that?

but Americans probably will never see that as a whole... we want things now or never.... get it now... pay for it later kind of mentality.

that's why change happens so slowly... because we demand... and then nothing... and those people slink away... but their words are still around... and then the next set of people... DEMAND... then slink away...

that's how it seems to me... I agree that it'll be a careful process... but that's if we were all working together... you get the militant groups that come in and really slow things down.. on both sides of the fence... and that's what disturbs me the most.

yes...value mainly themselves. That's capitalism for you. Most Americans have a world view that is about the size of a 5x5 block. I'm not even going to get on that soap box.

    Change:
Does happen, but we need to realize that it's a slow process. Many people don't like change and leaders always have to please the masses. That's why change happens so slowly. We as gays especially need to realize this. Acceptance isn't going to happen over night. Gays aren't going to be allowed into the military over night. Etc, Etc. It's a very careful process, almost like a dance of politics making change happen. I don't think most people get this. Most people don't know how to work with the masses to make this change happen. We expect things to just change because it's fundamentally right. That's just not how things work though. It takes the right people, the right steps, the right words and on and on to make things change.

Seattle

Though Seattle does have a bad traffic problem and lacks an excellent public transportation system, many more people use it than your typical American city. The city itself is relativly compact and well planned. My friends compared it to SIM city because of the way it's laid out. It's very livable, that's why we're here. If I want to do just about anything, I can hop on my bike or walk.

Anton, you're right, Americans are addicted to cars because it's so cheap. But we're slowly waking up to the fact that they destroy communities and create voids of life in the suburbs where people are disconnected and trapped in their cars. Not to mention horrible pollution that makes us all sick.

Yup, in the States (in general) I guess u have a huge lack of Mass Transit / Public Transportation which indeed is a blessing here in some parts of Europe. Also the fact that gas (and cars) are so ridiculously cheap over there doesn't motivate people to think about alternatives...

    Kev,
urban planning does not only include freeways. As a matter of a fact, it means less freeways...a more livable city that's pedestrian friendly, includes parks, recreation, well planned out work/living situations. Houston actually is one of the worst offenders. It's an endless sea of freeways, parking lots and ugly hulks of post modern architecture gone bad.

Good morning everyone...just rising on the west coast.
Just wanted to pop in and say a few words about this weekend's HRC event in San Antonio. First off, hopefully none of you heard me speak because it was bad. Apparently the event wasn't well publicised because hardly anyone was there and mostly the crowd was old people. I was at a loss of words as to what to say to a crowd of older people. "Now let me tell you (who are at least twice my age) how it is."
Secondly, a word on Texas. Two things that Texas knows nothing about:
    1. Conservation
    2. Urban planning

Anyhow, if any of you were unfortunate enough to hear me speak, I appologize and promise that is not typical.
    much love,
