Nathan...
...take him to places
where you two can be "out and about". Being in the military,
your occupation prevents you from really living like you want to live,
so take him away from that. Go on leave/vacation to a family friendly
area (Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Atlanta, just to name a few).
He'll appreciate the freedom.
Stoker...

you before you got to your dinner, maybe next time.

...would highly
recommend the military. If your gay though (I'm assuming, tell me if
I'm wrong), expect not living out and about. Even in the reserves, you
fall under the same rules and regulations. I think it was a state
representative that had to deal with that particular situation.

A simple question...
...How did you find this
message board.
read if you please
Hey guys...I was so
bored today so I hopped online and I found this site. I just read
through many of the posts. Some were flattering, some were insightful,
some were funny and some were just plain retarded. I have to thank all
of you who gave kind words. To answer some of your questions and
correct some of you:
take it easy
Gotta go to the grocery.
I'm about to go crazy sitting at this computer. Catch you guys later.
Check it out
Just got through posting
this rediculously long post at the following address if some of you
want to read it. Clears some things up.
what's up guys
Woo woo
What's happenin
guys...pretty bored here. Paul has left me for work over the weekend
and i'm pulling hair.
coming out
there's no easy advice
here. Everyone's situation is different, so i'm not sure what to say.
My only advice is that you should be completely secure in who you are;
possibly financially independant; and know that it's not a cure-all to
your problems. I think so many younger guys feel naively that if they
come out, all there problems will be solved. That's not always the
case and often it only causes more problems. Don't get me wrong, it's
a very important step in life and very liberating, but care should be
taken and it should be well thought out. Brashly announcing it to the
world could be asking for trouble. Be smart about it. There are many
people out there who'd love to hurt you.
posing
people posing as others
really PISSES me off. That deserves banning from the board.
gotta run
hey guys...gotta run
before the rain starts coming down. take it easy. i'll try to come
back on tonight after I update the journal page. Remember to read the
ebay directions carefully. pay attention stoney.
thanks E
thank Erik...i owe alot
to my friend Jenn who built the site with me.
Jhune
thanks alot man...i
appreciate the help. i'll check it out this evening.
Erik
glad to hear your story
and that you're happy Erik. keep the courage up. careful with
referring to "flamers"...that's hurts some feelings here.
Stoney
stoney, on MY ebay page
that's linked from my journal page, I wrote out the directions.
Instead of reading them, i think you just clicked on the ebay link and
that took you to ebay homepage...from there you didn't know what to do
because you didn't have the item number. oh well. read the directions
next time.
got it
Got your mail Jhune...think
i've already responded, but if I haven't yet, i'll write back asap.
Thanks man.
Charleston
was great. Paul and I
love that town. It's fun and beautiful and the weather couldn't have
been more perfect this past weekend.
the new board
I hated it...it was way
too involved and confusing so I didn't adopt it. This is the permanent
board.
Stoney
did you read the
instructions on the ebay page? It explained how to reach the auction.
Guess some of us don't like reading directions.
work
Paul had a good day at
work. I'm on summer break right now, which consists of alot of
chilling and exercise. Not much work really involved to tell you the
truth!
eBay update
Just so you guys who are
interested know, i'll be posting a couple of things on eBay tonight as
well as updating the journal page.
How's it?
how's life treating you
these days Jim?
Jim
I'd love to tell you,
but that's a little too personal. Don't want to compromise anything
here so close to the end. I'll be able to tell you guys all about him
in the fall after he's out.
Back
I'm back for a few from
picking Paulie up. I'm about to go on a bike ride though.
RW11
What's up guys...just
checking in during lunch to see what's happening here in board land.
Been reading alot of posts about RW11...people searching for the house
and scoping the scene out. That's cool and all, but by doing that,
you're killing the authenticity of the experience for the kids in the
house as well as making their lives much more difficult. During the
taping of my show, there was nothing more annoying than groupies
hanging out around the house and following us around, whether they
were supporters or haters of the show. The kids in the house just want
to be left alone to live their lives, so keep that in mind. Being part
of the show is stressful enough without being hounded by outsiders.
CA
no dates in CA...only
Northeast as of now. journal page
PLH...I see that you
haven't checked the journal page in a while. The BM post has been off
for a good while.
Matthew
sorry man...my bad...got
you mixed up with Jesse who's 15. forgive me. We're not talking about
this crush thing anymore...no biggie.
just to remind
check out my journal
page when you get a chance. Updated it last night. I'll be posting the
denim shirt from OUT cover tonight on ebay for those who are
interested. proceeds are going to the scholarship fund.
Matthew
come now and relax...no
one is attacking you so there's no reason to feel unwanted. You're
fine. Jeez, just realized you're my lil bros age and I feel like i'm
talking to him.
Matthew
Not talking about
it...only responding to posts, like R's post below.
R?
come on man...are you
not the same guy who just posted that crushes should be on someone who
you know and see daily. get your story straight.
Happy Birthday
to you too Jesse...and
you're how old?
crushes
it's ok to have a crush
on whoever you want. What's wrong with having a crush on someone you
don't know or see? That's why it's called a crush, nothing will ever
come of it, so why should you need to see the person? I use to have
the biggest crush on Jared Leto back in the day.
PA
Both of the dates in PA
are at small private schools so i'm not sure if it's open to the
public or not. Can't announce where yet because of that.
Manahattan
Think all the dates are
in upstate, but maybe one is in the city. I'm hoping at least one is
anyhow. Melissa
I'm not sure what she's
up to. Haven't talked to her in a good while. All I know is that she's
still living in LA.
no dates in DC...all of
my dates so far are in NY and PA for some reason.
One more month
One month countdown til
burning man and I can't wait. Also coming up in August is my first
speaking date of the fall. I'll go ahead and announce it since I
haven't updated my tour page.
My birthday
was the best yet...at
least one of the best. Some of my friends took me out to my favorite
restaurant (thai), then we went to a bar afterwards and got a little
roudy. Got plenty of love last Thursday.
my weekend
My weekend was great.
Spent it in Charleston with Paul. I've updated the journal page, which
now has some pics. Check it out for more info about the scholarship
and ebay auctions. my weekend

should I tell or no?
The post below from
Matthew cracks me up. It's funny when people post things on the board
as if i'm a third person entity who wont read posts. I read almost all
posts on this message board.
7.25.01
Morning guys...how's
life? How was the weekend?
Journal
By the way...the journal
and eBay pages have been updated! I'm out. much love and thanks
Just came from looking
at Jhune's site and I have to admit that it made me tear up. Reminded
me how blessed I am. Thanks so much Jhune and to all of you who
contributed. I really appreciate it. Also thanks to everyone else who
sent me bday wishes. So now, I'm going to go make the most of it. Have
a good day! thanks Dave
Thankyou so much for
your post Dave. It's always good to hear feedback. Glad i've changed
at least a few minds. you're right on by the way. gotta go for real
ok guys...gotta run.
Take it easy until next time and no breaking necks!
Jim
my best guess is season
13 or 14. They've killed the formula and are trying to produce two
shows in one year now. Too much equals too little when it's all said
and done.
speaking
most of my speaking this
fall will occur in the northeast. 3 dates in New York alone. I'll be
speaking on more serious issues this fall and less about the show.
Looking to make more a difference and change more minds. Paul
He finished college
before the military. He has his maters actually.
Jim
my speaking schedule
will be posted in 2 or 3 weeks. There aren't many dates this fall due
to my schedule and other projects.
answers
so many good posts to
respond to. older men
I think
brotherly/fatherly friendships and advice are great, especially here
on this board. Unfortunately, these relationships often turn sexual
because of young guys who are in turmoil over their sexuality and
older guys who take advantage. I do however have several older friends
that I love and don't have this problem with. I just know it exists
out there because i've seen it too much. It really, really bothers me.
There's a reason it's not accepted in the straight world and the same
rules apply in the gay world. Some just don't want to accept this
fact.
answers
haven't read
"Conversations with God" yet, but will eventually. older men
let me restate that not
all older men pray on younger men. I don't intend to hurt anyone here.
This is just a reality in the gay world that almost seems to be
accepted. Personally, I think it's pretty twisted. These young guys
running to older men for support and the older men take advantage of
the situation. This isn't always the case though and I applaud those
older men who are good people and truely do good. Just wanted to know
what you guys think about it.
Curse
from reading your post,
i'm not sure if i'd say your gay or not. Just because you have
feelings of love for a guy does not mean that you're gay. Now, if you
feel sexual feelings for him, that's different story. I have several
straight male friends that really love me, but it's not sexual. I
think you need some experience in your life. Sivart
no harm intended...just
thought that your post was such a strange thing to say here about
having gay friends and all. You post the obvious. forget it. older men
first off,
unfortunately, I know nothing about finding lost family members. tax rebate
I think it's pretty sweet. I get mine next week. Of course
Of course I get it Kevin...i'm not blind. I read posts and I have a
feel for what people are like. I think it's funny that certain people
will say anything, any old imbecile thing, to strike up conversation.
I just overlook it. and on and on...
Think there would be more talk of serious issues here if more people
were willing to bring them up. I think some people fear bringing up
certain subjects because they're afraid of being shot down.
cheese and serious
guess it has to do with the subjects I bring up. I like to bring up
serious topics here because it gives me a feel of where you guys are
coming from. It's also part of the reason I put this board up...for
serious subjects to be discussed. Cheese talk is all good as well. communism
Yes NB, you did here me say at one point that communism is beautiful,
meaning the ideas behind communism. If it worked, the world would be a
utopia of shared resources and everyone living at the same level.
Unfortunately, due to human weaknesses, this will never work. People
are too gready.
Max
I think you'll be very
happy with Athens. It's a very bohemian town with a diverse
population. Many students there are serious, but there's also a big
party scene like at any other college. The town is full of good music
and art as well as anything else you want to get your hands on. The
majority of students are from Georgia, since Georgia awards free rides
to it's highschool graduates with a 3.0 GPA or higher (Georiga's the
####). There's also plenty to do outdoors around the town, which is
one reason I loved it so much. It only takes 2 hours to reach the
North Ga mountains and an hour to reach Atlanta. I've been to alot,
alot of schools over the past year speaking and honestly, even though
i'm biased, none of them have come close to what UGA is. I'm being
honest when I say this. The campus is beautiful, the kids there are
cool (all 32,000) and there's a huge amount of majors and minors
offered. It has some of the best psychology, education and business
departments in the country. It also has the largest indoor sports
facility in the country that's free to students. #### I miss it! Good
luck.
NB
OK, got you. Coming out to my parents was based on several different
reasons.
sexual identity
NB, let me expound a little here on a subject that people often
confuse. There's always this talk about "straight acting"
and "gay acting" and being gay and being straight. The
categories are often tossed around and used one in the same. The
mistake here is that people are confusing sexual identity with sexual
preference. If you study psychology or human development, you
understand that the two categories are completely different. Behavior,
referring to the way someone acts, is sexual identity. A persons
sexual identity doesn't always point to a persons sexual preference.
That clear things up?
NB
no offense, but that's a really dumb question. What do you mean
"my straight-acting camoflauge"? There's no act to me. What
you saw on the show is what you get, Paul or no Paul. Maybe i'm
misunderstanding you.
Travis and God
Travis, thanks for the kind words in any case.
Sivart
I've read this post several times before and everytime I read it, I
ask myself, "why is he saying this?" There are deeper issues
here i believe...would you like to fill us in? To David who posted earlier today
Was just reading through today's posts (i'm always reading even if i'm
not posting) and I came across a post from someone named David who's
depressed. What really bothered me were the replies. A couple of guys
suggested that David come out to his family immediately to alleviate
the problem. I have to disagree here for I think this could possibly
compound the problems. Coming out is in NO way a cure-all. I think
some naive guys feel that if they only come out, then all their
problems will majically disappear. Often times, coming out at a young
age, espcially to the family only makes more problems. Hopefully for
you David, your family will understand, but my recommendation is that
you wait until you're completely confident in yourself and from what
you write, you obviously aren't. It seems to me that your problems run
much deeper than your closted homosexuality. It seems that you also
have social anxiety issues since you wrote that you hate socializing.
Unfortunately for you, socializing is part of being human and is
necessary for a successful and happy life. One guy suggested to you
that you get professional help and I think in your case this would
definitely benefit you. We all need someone to talk to about our
problems and since you don't have close friends, a therapist can play
this role for you. I also suggest trying hard at developing
friendships, especially at this point in your life. Friends are
crucial in life and having satisfying relationships with friends makes
life more meaningful. Keep us updated on what's going on in your life.
Take care.much

Bout to crash guys

That's all scare tactics. Something that's so right to me, feels so

who it's for.
Paul and I
He's 10 steps ahead of
me when in public unless we're in Chelsea, West Hollywood, midtown
Atlanta or some similar place. Jason
The greatest feeling for
me probably was finishing college. Coming out to my parents ranks high
up there though. Paul
will leave the military
this winter.

Jim
you misunderstood me.
People shouldn't run from catholicism because it't hateful. People
shouldn't feel guilty either and accept what theyr'e taught.
Catholicism is based heavily on guilt and many fall pray. Too many
gays start believing and hate themselves. good God
####, gotta explain
every detail. Textbook material: White flight is harmful because of
the tax drain. Huge flight of any group = huge tax drain and an
infrustructure with no repairs. sandwhiches
i love turkey
sandwhiches with tons of mustard, mayo, lettuces, onions, tomatoes and
here's the secret...italian dressing. Jhune
you guys are too
sweet...almost as good as sweet tea! Nathan
Nathan..i'm happy
they've been good for you. Overall, they're just irresponsible use of
land as well as socially irresponsible. Running from minorites doesn't
fix a problem. It just makes it worse. New Orleans is in a crisis
because all the whites fled away to the suburbs, leaving the inner
city to fall apart. marriage
Jim, well, i hate
calling it "marriage" because that sounds so traditional,
but call it what you want...it's all the same. I don't know what
changed my mind. I've just grown up so much over the past year and
we've gotten so deep into our relationship. I've also become so much
more spiritual than I use to be and spiritually I think it's an
important step. Jim
but Chicago has a huge
downtown as well. Atlanta's downtown is minute compared to Chicago and
Dallas and Houston's downtowns are even smaller.
MAX
Athens is certainly not
boring. I still go there to hangout. I love that town. I feel like
it's more my hometown than where I grew up because I went through so
much personal growth and good times there.
Nathan
actually my friend,
these words came straight from the producers mouths. these aren't only
my opinions. Bedroom communities are the plague of the nation. They
aren't real communites; just broken up neighborhoods seperated by
walls and gates. No one knows each other because they're too busy
driving in their cars. You must not live in one or otherwise you'd
understand. Wish you knew what it's like to spend half a day in a car
with no human contact. not fun. MAX
Athens is an awesome
college town...one of the best and UGA is an awesome school as well.
It's very bohemian and has a big outdoor/coffee shop culture. Reminds
me alot of a small, southern version of Seattle. Plus it's only an
hour away from Atlanta and that fun. Go GO GO.
bedroom community
text book meaning...this
means a city where most of the inhabitants drive to the city to work
by day and live in the ####ty suburbs by night. much caused by white
flight. For example, Atlanta has ring cities now because so many
people live in the suburbs that highrises popped in concentrated areas
around certain freeway exchanges. That's not a real community, that's
a car community. If a show was taped in one of those cities, they
might as well give them a really nicely decorated car to live in
because that's where most of the action will happen. I remember living
in Atlanta and spending hours stuck in traffic. I would take a book to
read with me on my drive home, which normally took 15 minutes, but
would take up to 2 hours in the evening.
Acupulco
tourist hell. Houston,
Dallas,Atlanta
all commuter bedroom
communities...not real cities.
My opinion
personally, other than
Quebec or Montreal, I think Austin would be a good spot, even though
it's small. I think it's a great town. Las Vegas???? hell no, what a
#### hole. That place would be painfully boring after a few days. What
would the cast do for 5 months? "ok guys, lets start our 9th week
of gambling on our credit cards".
MTV
I almost got involved
with a new project with MTV, but decided it wasn't in my best
interest. I really don't feel a connection to that station and
actually hate most of their programming.
Dallas, Houston
equally new and as
cultureless as Atlanta, actually, more cultureless.
Chicago
already being filmed as
we speak to air this winter.
Phillie?
nah, don't think
so...doesn't have enough personality. They look for big cities with a
living downtown, tons of personality and something special that really
sets it apart from anytown USA. There are too many other cities out
there that are similar to Philadelphia.
Quebec City
is the coolest city in
North America.
my opinion
From what i've been
told, I think the next season will be in Australia. Just at guess
though. They're out of American cities. All the good ones have been
used.
10th reunion
let's see, getting
"airtime" on that special required Bull####ting on camera.
No thanks.
Q.C.
I've been begging
production to do a season in Quebec City. It would be so perfect in
the summer. Beautiful city...beautiful people and plenty for the cast
to do. You guys should write them letters for me and beg them too.
sweet tea
is one of the positive
things about living in the south. Really love the "tea" at
Ga So.
haven't really
watched the new seasons
at all. Saw the casting special but don't really remember what they
look like. I have however befriended Sophia because she's a cool chic.
The real world will NEVER be in India.
Georgia Southern
One of my best friends
use to go to school there and I came down to visit a couple of times.
Interesting people down there...went to a tea party a couple of times.
fear of hieghts
read up on fear of
hieghts. It's actually usually not a fear of the hieghts but rather a
fear of jumping or falling. I have a deep, clinical fear of hieghts.
When I'm near a cliff edge, I have this strange, overwhelming urge to
jump and see what it feels like. It causes massive anxiety and stress.
Being in a plane doesn't pose the same situation because there is no
way of leaving the aircraft to fall.

Nathan man...come on. of
course I've profited from my real world experience. I'd be foolish not
to make this work to my advantage. Here's the trick. I give back 100%
of what i feel i've gained. That's why I do these charity auctions and
help out all those I can. I'd be selfish if I didn't and couldn't live
with that. I thank God everyday for what he's given me and never take
it for granted.
laughing my#####off
hey guys...just got back
from my run and some of you are making me laugh. People getting all
uptight about my references to model stereotypes, yet I haven't said a
word about what these stereotypes are. Seems some of us know what the
stereotypes are without even having to say them. Now why is that?
ATLBOI
Hey man...what's up.
Come on, you know what I mean here. No, not all the people in the

shipping goods
how is shipping raw
materials to 3rd world contries profitable? Easily my friend. It works
out wonderfully for these American companies who pay these workers
producing the goods next to nothing. It also worked very well for
Europe a couple hundred years ago when America and its slaves worked
under the same system. Nathan
to answer your question,
I've been making a living by speaking and doing promotional work for

Thank you so much for
